FUJAIRAH HARBOUR DEVELOPMENT

Alexander and Lloyd through their subsidiary Professional Group Australia were commissioned to locate a new harbour and associated facilities on the east coast within the Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, and to prepare a Master Plan for their phased development. Following approval of the recommended location A&L provided full architectural services including preparation of an urban design plan, design and construction documentation and contract administration during implementation.

This project involved a comprehensive understanding of the environmental, social and religious requirements of the users. It required the provision of breakwaters to form the artificial harbour, wharf facilities and shore buildings, all services, roads, on site power generation and water and sewerage treatment.
