CENTRAL AGRICULTURAL LABORATORIES

A new laboratory complex at the oasis city of Al Ain in Abu Dhabi, the capital state of the United Arab Emirates, which was designed documented and supervised by Alexander & Lloyd’s subsidiary Professional Group Australia (PGA) with A&L providing architectural services.

The laboratories contained research and clinical laboratories for air, soil and water research and testing together with all support facilities and were designed in response to a World Health Organisation brief prepared for the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

The buildings were grouped in a secure compound around a permanent water source and the complex was self-contained, including water supply, sewer treatment and staff quarters as well animal holding and operating facilities, with full administration and workshop areas.

The project was subject of a world wide building tendering process and the full scientific and other equipment procurement was also carried out by A&L on behalf of PGA.
