REFURBISHMENT OF CLASSROOM BLOCKS
The Council of the King’s School.
Alexander and Lloyd were requested by the School to examine the existing 35 year old classroom stock in teaching blocks A, B, C & D and to make recommendations for their future use.
A&L then assisted the School in developing and constructing a prototype classroom incorporating the major recommendations of the report in order to trial their effectiveness. The prototype classroom proved to be a success, which resulted in the School Council approving the staged refurbishment of the remaining classrooms.
The works included improved electrical supply, data and audio visual reticulation, positive heating and cooling, new classroom finishes including acoustic floor and ceiling linings and new classroom furniture and fittings. An extensive study was made into the use of suitable colour schemes for the learning environment and flexible furniture and furniture layouts to suit a variety of teaching methods.
