KING'S NEW DINING HALL FACILITIES

Parramatta

The Council of the King’s School

The School found that their existing dining room and kitchen facilities were too small to cater for their increasing use by both day and boarding students. Alexander and Lloyd were asked by the School to prepare a Master Plan for the Dining Hall Precinct.

The Master Plan provided for the refurbishment and extension of the existing dining room, provision of a new commercial kitchen and servery together with food storage and delivery spaces and a new dining hall for staff and senior students which could also be used for the School’s formal functions.

The project was designed to continue the school’s historical background while incorporating the latest modern food preparation and serving facilities. The new dining hall – ‘The Trophy Room’ – was designed to house and display the school’s honour rolls, trophies and portraits of past headmasters.
