The Council of the King’s School

A new self contained and administered Preparatory School catering for years 4 to 6 was designed and built on a green field site adjacent to the existing heritage listed Gowen Brae accommodation and its garden precincts.

The new classrooms have large windows and skylights for low cost natural lighting and ventilation and were designed around courtyards for weather protection and ease of access.

Craft, Art and Woodwork facilities were provided along with a large assembly hall with performance facilities and display areas. The assembly hall was designed to be a focal point of the school.

Administration and staff facilities are placed for maximum visual and physical control of the school.
