The Council of the King’s School

A new music school practice and performance building was designed and built within the existing academic precinct adjacent to the existing Futter Hall and connected to it. Futter Hall was also refurbished during this project.

The new building contains a semi-formal music presentation area with a small fan stage, sound reinforcement and lighting facilities. On the lower level, special sound rated and acoustically corrected practice rooms of various sizes and shapes were provided, together with teaching and administration areas.

An external performance space was provided and landscaped and the opportunity was also taken to incorporate a climbing wall in the external wall of the building.
