Rhys has 35 years experience in all facets of architecture, and construction management of civil and building work including architectural design, construction supervision, building maintenance, site development and construction management. 25 of the 35 years working and living in developing countries. He has acted as Government Architect on behalf of recipient Govs (Lesotho, Swaziland and Vanuatu) and as a consultant to Aid donors (Solomon Is, PNG, Nauru, Iraq, Tonga and Fiji).

Rhys is responsible for practice administration and financial management and with his extensive working experience in developing countries is responsible for ensuring the suitability of the practice’s design, quality control, administrative and financial systems within the many unsophisticated environments in which the practice manages projects. Rhys ensures that proposed building designs and contracting methods are cost effective, buildable, appropriate and sustainable. Rhys has considerable experience with security and health issues which so often plague projects in developing countries and is responsible for the preparation of specific project security plans, risk assessment and management plans.

Rhys has recently completed courses in the practical application of Monitoring and Evaluation and Participatory Planning techniques.
