Hamish has over 15 years experience in all facets of architecture including planning, design and documentation; project and construction management / supervision. He has a particular interest in the promotion of environmentally sustainable design options and decisions, including triple bottom line assessment; site assessment including local distinctiveness surveys; stakeholder liaison and inclusion; and project brief development. He has wide-ranging computer skills, including several CAD, vector and raster graphic programs, as well as MS Word, Excel, and Project.

Hamish is the A&L PNG Resident Director based in A&L’s Port Moresby office. His role is to develop the design and professional competences of local staff to international best practice, develop a business model for A&L PNG that’s meets the needs of A&L’s PNG based clients, ensure that the PNG work complies with A&L’s QA procedures and provide mentoring to local staff. Hamish is currently the president of the PNG Institute of Architects and was the Guest Practitioner at the PNG University of Technology – School of Architectures’ 2009 Master Class.

Hamish has recently completed courses on Facilitation Skills and Participatory Approaches for Working in Development Projects.
